PDEA: P32.44 billion worth of illegal drugs, chemicals seized under Marcos admin

A total of P32.44 billion worth of dangerous drugs, laboratory equipment and controlled precursors and essential chemicals (CPEC) have been confiscated by anti-narcotics operatives under the Marcos administration, the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported Tuesday, April 9.
From July 2022 to February 2024, PDEA said that government anti-narcotics authorities seized 4,353.81 kilograms (kgs) of shabu, 50.51 kgs of cocaine, 3,589.08 of marijuana and 54,016 pieces of ecstasy.
Out of the 61,800 anti-drug operations, the PDEA said that 84,291 drug personalities were arrested, of which 5,591 were identified as high-value targets (HVTs).
During the same period, 901 drug dens and one clandestine laboratory were also dismantled.
Due to the intense anti-illegal drug operation, the PDEA noted that 28,330 barangays are now drug-cleared, leaving 7,181 barangays that are still drug-affected.
