MANILA, Philippines — The moment Tim Bradley signed his name to face Manny Pacquiao on June 9, the little-known California-bred fighter saw visions of grandeur, images that doesn’t augur well with the general impression that Bradley is nothing but cannon fodder.

“Don’t count me out,” Bradley told the Desert Sun (serving Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley of Southern California), his hometown paper, after finalizing the details of his crack at Pacquiao’s mythical title of pound-for-pound king in a 12-round match that takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Bradley, unbeaten in 28 fights with 12 knockouts, has promised to send shockwaves that will reverberate to all the corners of the world, boasting that he has Pacquiao all figured out.

“He (Pacquiao) can be beat,” Bradley told the LA Times. “I know his weaknesses, his favorite combinations.”

Bradley, who signed with Top Rank last year in an effort to line himself up for the Pacquiao sweepstakes, declined to say how much he has been guaranteed by Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum.

But Arum swore that the money Bradley is getting for the fight will be bigger than his entire earnings.

Still, Bradley is not after the money--and is seriously gunning for a sensational showing--against the 33-year-old Filipino icon who seemed to have slowed down the last couple of years.

“It’s harder for Pacquiao to land his punches now,” Bradley told the Times.

Cameron Dunkin, who manages Bradley, said not only is his fighter “excited and thrilled (to fight Pacquiao)” but determined to prove his detractors wrong and earn more admirers as well.

Pacquiao, like Bradley, is on a mission to issue a strong statement.

The last time he was in the ring, Pacquiao struggled against Mexican nemesis Juan Manuel Marquez and he had to settle for a majority decision to keep his unbeaten winning streak stretching back to 2005.

Pacquiao is aware of what somebody like Bradley, who has nothing to lose but everything to gain, can bring to the table.

“You don’t take this guy for granted,” said Pacquiao, whose encounter with Bradley will be his 22nd bout on US soil.
