Woman's body found inside box; delivery rider, 2 men arrested in Tondo
Members of the Manila Police District (MPD) on Tuesday, April 9, arrested a delivery rider and two other persons for their alleged involvement in the killing of a woman whose body was found inside a box in Tondo, Manila.

The MPD said that the lifeless body of a woman, identified as Jasmine Salvador, was found by a tricycle driver along Masuerte Street in Tondo on Saturday night, April 6.
The MPD said that the first suspect who was seen on the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from Barangay 108 who left the box was identified as alias Rey, a delivery rider.
Based on the footage, the rider was seen riding his motorcycle with a parcel box behind him and was seen dropping the box along the area.
The tricycle driver who saw the box and brought it to his house immediately called for assistance from the barangay after discovering the dead woman wrapped in tape and plastic inside the box.
MPD chief Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay said that the rider was arrested after a back-tracking operation.
“Sinundan siya ng mga kapulisan natin, expecting na pupuntahan niya yung mga kasamahan niya, kaya lang pumasok siya rito sa isang courier company at doon na siya inaresto (Our policemen followed him, expecting him to go to his cohort, but he entered a courier company, and that's where he was arrested),” he said.
The two other suspects, identified as William and Rus, were arrested with the help of the delivery rider.
Meanwhile, the rider denied any involvement in the crime and with the two suspects, saying he was only ordered to dispose of the box.
“Nakisuyo lang po na itapon ko kung ano yung bagay na ‘yun, pero wala po akong alam kung ano yung laman na yun. Itapon ko raw sa malayo kase lumang gamit daw po ‘yun (They just told me to throw away the box, but I didn't know what was inside it. They said I should throw it away because it's old stuff),” he said.
Police said the arrested suspects will be charged for murder.
