MANILA, Philippines — University of Santo Tomas dominated Adamson, 25-22, 25-21, 25-8, to claim the third Final Four berth on Saturday in the 74th UAAP women's volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Maru Banaticla fired 15 points while veterans Judy Caballejo and Maika Ortiz added 11 and 10 points, respectively, as the Tigresses ended their elimination round campaign with a 9-5 record.

The win gave UST the No. 3 seed and will face Ateneo in the Final Four, provided that it beats La Salle, being played at presstime.

La Salle is seeking to sweep the double-round elims. A win would propel the Lady Archers to an outright finals berth and a thrice-to-beat advantage while forcing the three other teams to dispute the last finals berth in a stepladder phase.

Adamson finished the elims at 8-6, tying Far Eastern University, which easily downed University of the East, 25-14, 25-18, 29-27, to force a playoff for the last semifinals berth today. —Jonas Terrado
