MANILA, Philippines – February 17, 2012 - Ogilvy & Mather has announced that Philippines CEO Randy Aquino will replace Tim Isaac as The Philippines Vice-Chairman of the agency group enabling a search for a new CEO for one of the Philippines’ largest communications agencies.
As CEO, Aquino has overseen the growth of the agency over the past five years and has been instrumental in establishing the group’s digital credentials as a centerpiece of the latest Five Year Plan, crowned by receiving the award as ‘The Philippines Digital Agency of the Year 2011’.
“Randy has done an outstanding job delivering our Five Year Plan together with our management board of Leticia Matias, Peachy Pacquing, Melissa Crucillo, Leah Huang, Jeremy Sy, Arvin Sanchez and Eric Yeo,” says David Mayo, President, Ogilvy & Mather ASEAN. “The agency is in great shape and Randy will continue to play a role, starting with helping me to establish a successor.”
Aquino, an alumnus of Columbia NY, will relocate at the end of April to the US where he will continue his management studies on the West Coast, after which he will return to Manila in his new role.
Ogilvy has grown strongly with brands like Nike, KFC, Ponds, Dove, Unilab and Nestle under Aquino and it has a strong management team who will continue to ensure that the agency delivers effective, integrated campaigns for some of the Philippines leading brands.
“Randy continues in his next chapter with our full support and blessing,” says Paul Heath, CEO, Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific. “We are very happy that he remains a part of our family and our culture and I thank him for what he has done for us over the past five years as he helps shape the next five.”
David Mayo, President, Ogilvy & Mather ASEAN will assume the position of interim CEO and will work with Aquino on a succession plan.
“It’s an exciting time for the industry and for Ogilvy,” says Aquino. “It is also an exciting time for me personally. At the board level, I look forward to working closely with the new management team and helping them set the next Five Year Plan for Ogilvy in The Philippines.”
