Dr. Aristides Concepcion Tan, DOH-12 regional director informed North Cotabato Gov. Nancy Catamco here on Wednesday of the DOH allocation during a courtesy visit.
Three major earthquakes that hit parts of Mindanao on October 16, 29, and 31, 2019 with over 2,000 aftershocks displaced over 30,000 residents, damaged private and public buildings, and killed 22 people in nine North Cotabato towns and 40 barangays in this city, earlier reports showed.
“The earthquakes caused damages to some (health) equipment and facilities in government health facilities in the towns of Mlang and Tulunan,” Dr. Tan said.
Tan told Catamco that the DoH, on the recommendation of the regional office, has allotted P9-million from its office quick response fund to rehabilitate the District Hospital in Mlang and the Fr. Tulio Favali District Hospital in Tulunan.
P4-million will be used for Mlang hospital and P5-million for the Favali hospital, according to Tan.
