The suspect in the killing of a 27-year-old woman inside a radiator shop in Barangay Bangkal, Makati City on April 6, was arrested by members of the Makati City Police, it announced Thursday, April 11.
The suspect was identified as "Jhayan," 28, a helper at the radiator shop where the killing took place.
Based on the police report, the suspect was arrested in San Miguel Street, Sangandaan, Caloocan City during a manhunt operation after a bystander positively identified him while eating at an eatery.
Upon seeing the police, the suspect immediately ran but was caught after a brief chase.
Jhayan admitted killing the woman by strangulation using a microphone cord and stabbing her on the neck using an improvised pointed steel object, which was later recovered by the Southern Police District (SPD) Forensic Unit.
Jhayan is now detained at the Makati City Police Station and will be charged with murder before the Makati Prosecutor's Office.
