More Patrol Cars In Cavite

CAMP GEN. GARCIA, Cavite, Philippines — More roving police cars will be visible on the streets of Cavite as the Police Provincial Office (PPO) here intensified its anti-criminality campaign in the area. Cavite has now 23 new patrol cars, aside from those being used by each town and city. The new black and white marked police cars came from the provincial government and the usual white and blue and red or any other colors from the localities. Chief Inspector Romulo C. Dimaya, PPO information officer and Mobile Patrol Group chief, said that the cars with four-man police team each car is for added security, particularly in Dasmarinas, Imus and Bacoor. Leadership Forum For Limay Youth

LIMAY, Bataan — In his bid to make them productive and become good leaders, Mayor Ver Roque sponsored recently a youth forum on leadership. The activity was aimed at molding the minds of the youth to become disciplined and productive members of society, said Roque. “In order to lead them into right path, they should be given the right groundwork and foundation,” he said. He challenged them to do their part in protecting the environment, plant trees and join in the clean up drive launched in Limay for a cleaner and greener industrial town. (Mar T. Supnad)

Landslide Areas Open To Traffic

REAL, Quezon — The Quezon Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) confirmed Tuesday that vehicles can now pass through the landslide areas in Barangays Talisay, Tanauan, and Tignoan, here. Quezon PDRRMC and Civil Defense Office Coordinator Henry Buzar said personnel from the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) had completed clearing operations in sections of the roads shut by Monday’s landslides caused by heavy rains. DOLE Signs MOU With Hanjin

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction Philippines (HHICP) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding that effectively enrolls the Korean shipbuilding and construction giant to the DOLE’s “Big Brother, Small Brother” Program. The program, also known as the Kapatiran WISE-TAV, encourages big companies (Big Brother) to practice corporate social responsibility by coaching small companies (Small Brother) in eventually becoming fully compliant with labor laws and occupational safety and health (OSH) standards, said DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz. PWD Welfare Pushed In North

DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan — At least 16,253 listed persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Region 1 may benefit from the program being implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the promotion of employment, education, accessibility and health. This will be pursued in the 1st quarterly meeting of the Regional Committee on Disability Affairs (RCDA) for the year set Thursday at the Area Vocational and Rehabilitation Center in Bonuan, this city, which houses PWDs.
