MANILA, Philippines — Malacanang is unfazed on the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showing an increase in unemployment in the country, saying that the Aquino administration is focusing on improving quality education and job generation.

Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda also cited the 2011 Labor Force Survey of the National Statistics Office (NSO) showing a decrease in unemployment.

“Not to denigrate the SWS survey but we have a Labor Force Survey which we conduct quarterly, it’s conducted by the NSO,” he said.
