Lee O’Brien, the former partner of comedienne Marietta Subong -- popularly known as Pokwang -- has been deported, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Thursday, April 11.
In a statement, the BI said that “O’Brian was deported in the evening of April 8 on board a Philippine Airlines flight to San Francisco after it was confirmed that he has no pending local case in the Philippines.”
“As a consequence of his deportation, his name has been included in the BI’s blacklist, barring any future attempts to re-enter the country,” it said.
The BI said it acted on the deportation case Pokwang filed against the American last year.
“In her complaint, Subong claimed that O’Brian rendered work in different production companies without securing required Department of Labor and Employment and BI permits,” it said.
“The BI found merit in the said complaint and ordered O’Brian deported in December for violation of the conditions of his stay,” it added.
“O’Brian filed for a motion for reconsideration, which was eventually denied,” it also said.
