The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), Monday said that close to 3 000 families or more than 11,000 people were pre-emptively evacuated in eight provinces due to Tropical Depression "Amang".

Jalad, said a total of 2,678 families or 11,153 persons from the provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur, Masbate, Eastern Samar, Agusan del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur, were pre-emptively evacuated due to the possble effects of Amang. Jalad also said that 145 cities /municipalities in Region 5 (Bicol) and CARAGA have suspended classes due to the weather disturbance. At the seaports, Jalad said a total of 2,951 passengers, 385 rolling cargoes, 49 vessels and 10 motorbancas are stranded in Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Eastern Visayas and Southern Visayas. Two domestic flights were cancelled due to bad weather. alad said a total of 374,995 Family Food Packs (FFPs) amounting to 133, 100,602.83 are ready to be distributed to affected families. The NDRRMC remains on Blue Alert status.
