Dengue Cases Up In Bataan
BALANGA CITY, Bataan — Despite the Provincial Health Office (PHO) reporting that there are no dengue outbreaks in Bataan, seven of the municipalities in Bataan were tagged as hotspots for dengue as cases increased by around 70 percent from last year’s stats.
Dr. Rosanna Buccahan, PHO chief, said that a total of 364 cases of dengue fever were recorded from the first two months of this year compared to last year’s 214 of the same period.
Currently, there are no reported deaths as of press time. Bataan hotspots are Balanga City, Abucay, Hermosa, Limay, Mariveles, Pilar and Orion, while five towns that were previously declared hotspots were delisted. (Jonas Reyes)
Cavite Police Saves 8 Dogs
CAMP GARCIA, Cavite — A police mobile patrol team has rescued eight dogs after a half-an-hour chase with a tricycle in a remote barangay (village) in Silang town, a Police Provincial Office (PPO) report said Tuesday.
Chief Inspector Romulo C. Dimaya, chief of PPO-Mobile Patrol Group (PPO-MPG), said the dogs were found stuffed in the Kawasaki 175cc tricycle (8246 PU) that was abandoned by the driver and his companion in the mountain area of Barangay Tatiao before dawn Monday. (Anthony Giron)
Ynares, Leyble At K.H.O.A. rites
ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal — The good team-up between the city and the provincial governments was warmly received by residents here as they foresee a better future in terms of development and governance.
Governor Casimiro “Jun” Ynares III and Mayor Danilo Leyble both attended the induction ceremony of officers of the Kingsville Homeowners Association (KHOA) in Barangay Mayamot.
“Masaya po ako at muli kong nakapiling ang mga taong nakasama na rin ng aking ama noong siya ay naglilingkod pa bilang isang Gobernador. Kung anumang tulong ang inyong kailangan narito kami ni Mayor Nilo,” Ynares said. (Nel B. Andrade)
Alvarado Cites Bulacan P.P.O. Drive
MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan — Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy Alvarado commended the other day the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO) and other government peacekeeping forces for continuously maintaining an atmosphere of peace and order in the province wherein the crime rate drops at about 16.35 percent.
Alvarado, chairman of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), said that the unrelenting drive against criminality and maintenance of peace and order has resulted into significant arrests of lawless elements and neutralization of notorious crime syndicates operating in Bulacan, Metro Manila and some parts of Central Luzon. Mimaropa P.N.P. trains 193 scouts
CAMP NAVARRO, Oriental Mindoro — The Modified Philippine National Police Special Counter-Insurgency Operations Unit Training II (PNP SCOUT II) Class 21-2012 opened recently with 193 participants, Regional Office 4 (PRO4) officials said Tuesday.
Senior Superintendent Dennis Peña, deputy regional director for operations, said Inspector Davy Henron presented the 101 men and 46 women for the 45-day training course at the MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) Grandstand. It includes, disarming techniques, hand-to-hand combat and knife to hand combat. (Ferdinand F. Castro)
