And there’s Spicy Potato Soft Tacos from Taco Bell.

Eating in the metaverse is no will-o’-the-wisp,

Not such a far-fetched idea you can tell.

Though the crisps and the tacos aren’t edible yet,

You can buy them, sell them, collect them, trade them...

Watch out! These limited collectibles can get you in bad debt—

Food meets gaming meets NFTs on this ecosystem.

But first: NFT is a non-fungible token,

A unit of data you can own by way of a photo, video, or audio.

As long as you don’t sell or trade it, it is marked “taken.”

See, NFTs can even buy you a virtual bed-and-breakfast chateau.

In the foodverse, food is trade between NFT collectors and play-to-earn gamers,

An experience gamified and immersive on the blockchain.

In the form of NFTs, you can buy ingredients from the metaverse’s farmers,

And build dishes from seeds and grain.

Or you can grow crops in the Farm,

And sell them in the Market.

Right now they don’t cost a leg and an arm,

But users minting recipes out of what they grow or buy is how they make it.

The F&B industry in the metaverse is in its infancy,

But big-time chefs in droves are coming in.

Already they are lending the lure of their celebrity—

The bandwagon effect will soon begin.

Pretty soon virtual restaurants will pop up—

Ethiopian coffee, deep-fried tarantulas from Thailand...

Digital food collectibles or artworks of Icelandic rotten shark in a cup,

Or heirloom recipes of the Visayan inun-unan.

Global cuisines, exotica, and secrets of the trade up for the highest bidder,

Maybe even the go-to breakup dish of Taylor Swift!

In the foodverse who will emerge the winner?

But all this shared knowledge must accelerate the Total Digital Shift.

Maybe someday the metaverse will be the answer to world hunger,

A new horizon whose boundaries we cannot yet imagine,

A brain-powered playground of flavors and textures upon which we can ponder

All the cheering or terrifying things that may happen.
