MANILA, Philippines — Celebrities are some of the most vocal and loyal fans of BlackBerry® Messenger (BBM™).

Media and bloggers were invited by RIM, the company behind BlackBerry, to discover firsthand what BBM was all about. Hosted by “Boys Night Out” DJ Sam Gogna (better known as Sam YG), the BBM event was also graced by budding actresses Laureen Uy and Isabelle Daza.

Sam recalled that his funniest BBM memory is “receiving a photo via BBM, while caught up in traffic, of a friend who was asleep with saliva dripping all over his cheeks as it gave me a good laugh during a rather stressful situation.”

Isabelle said that “it’s all about contacting my family abroad with ease. While I was in Europe a few years back, my younger sister sent me a voice note of her singing. It made me feel better because I was missing her so much.”

At the recent BBM event “Dare to Do More: Experience BlackBerry Messenger” at Trinoma, radio jock Gino Quillamor, host Divine Lee, basketball player Kiefer Ravena, and actress Solenn Heussaff each shared why BBM is important to them.

Solenn said, “I love BBM because of group chat. I can talk to 10-15 of my friends all at once while keeping everyone else updated at the same time.”

With BBM-only plans for as low as 99 pesos a month, BBM is now more accessible.
