MANILA, Philippines – Ford Philippines today reported February retail sales of 415 units, reflecting the continuing impact from the Thai flood crisis that has affected the local delivery and supply of vehicles.

Ford’s three best-selling models in the Philippines - the All-New Ford Fiesta, Ford Ranger and Ford Everest – are all built in Thailand, where many industries, including automotive, are still working to fully restore supplier networks and get back to pre-flood production schedules.

The All New Ford Fiesta led the monthly performance with retail sales of 239 units. Ford further expanded the Fiesta’s class-leading lineup in February with the launch of three new variants, including the 1.6L Fiesta Sport Plus hatchback and the 1.4L Fiesta Trend AT in both hatchback and sedan.

“The All-New Fiesta is one of the clear leaders of the small car segment, and with the addition of three new variants for our Filipino customers plus improving overall stocks across dealerships this month, we are confident that Fiesta will continue its growth in the segment,” said Randy Krieger, president, Ford Group Philippines.
Ford will launch the All-New Ranger at the upcoming Manila International Auto Show, along with the All New Explorer 2.0L GTDi - the first vehicle Ford will introduce to the market featuring its innovative EcoBoost engine technology.

“We are still working through the supply disruptions that were caused by the Thai floods, but are looking forward to getting things fully back on track, starting later this month with the introduction of the All-New Ranger and All-New Explorer 2.0L GTDi at the Manila International Auto Show,” added Krieger. “We fully expect our sales volume to strengthen through the year, with the launch of the All-New Ford Focus giving us another boost later this year.”

To support the growth, Ford’s plans to open 12 new authorized Ford dealerships this year, increasing its nationwide network to 35 authorized dealers.
