Jealousy, drugs allegedly trigger man to behead live-in partner in QC Extreme jealousy, aggravated by the suspect being high on drugs, led to the gruesome killing of a woman, who was stabbed then beheaded by her live-in partner inside their rented house in Quezon City on Thursday. Investigators of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and Batasan Police Station (PS-6) said victim Maricel Alejo, 38, could have been killed out of jealousy by her partner Alejandro Llena, 34, who was reportedly also "high on illegal drugs." Prior to the discovery of Alejo's body, PS-6 chief Lt. Col. Joel Villanueva said they received a phone call from Barangay Batasan Hills officers at around 2 p.m. about a man armed roaming Arba Street. Responding officers immediately went to the area where they noticed a commotion which turned out to be a case of hostage-taking. According to the police, the man, later identified as Llena, took his three-year-old daughter hostage, while armed with a pistol. Policemen were able to negotiate with the suspect, who eventually surrendered and led to the recovery of the daughter. During interview with the child, she revealed that her mother, Alejo, was already dead inside their house. Upon verifying, operatives were shocked to discoer with the decapitated body of Alejo inside the bathroom, with her head lying on the floor of the dining area. Probers have yet to determine if the victim was shot or stabbed first before she was beheaded as two gunshots were heard. Authorities also noticed stab wounds on the victim's body. Recovered from the crime scene were a caliber .45 pistol, a kitchen knife, and a butcher’s knife. "Tinitingnan namin ay selos. Parang praning kasi yung lalaki dahil laging lumalabas yung babae, pinaghihinalaan niyang may iba (We are looking into jealousy . He seems crazy and always suspecting his partner of having an affair)," Villanueva explained. When asked why he killed his wife, Llena told the police that someone whispered to him that he should do it. According to Villanueva, the couple, both jobless, were living together for years now. Further investigation also showed that the suspect was involved in illegal drugs and was a drug surrenderer in 2016. He was also included in the drug watchlist of PS-6. Llena is now under custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) and will be charged with murder before the Quezon City Prosecutors Office. (Alexandria San Juan) Motorcycle rider dead in road mishap A motorcycle rider who was under the influence of liquor died when he rammed into a rotor mill ( pangbakbak ng aspalto) along Felix Avenue in Cainta Rizal yesterday morning. Report reaching the Rizal PNP showed that the unidentified victim was on board a  motorcycle with plate number WY 7762. He Has no driver's license or any identification. Witness told police that the incident occurred past 1 in the morning when the motorcycle was driving wayward towards an unknown direction and lost control then hit the rotor mil. Due to the strong impact, the motorcycle was totally damaged . It was learned that the victim was not wearing helmet or other safety gear while driving a motorcycle. Police said the accident is a self-inflicted incident. (Madelynne Dominguez) P200k worth of shabu seized in Caloocan sting About P200,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized from a 30-year-old man in a sting operation at Barangay Tanza 2 in Navotas City Friday. Darwin Tubig, resident of the area, was arrested by joint elements of the Navotas City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency at about 1:50 a.m. Investigation showed that the suspect was nabbed after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P300 to a poseur buyer. Retrieved from the suspects were a plastic ice bag containing suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P200,000. Also recovered from his possession were a sachet of suspected shabu and the P300 marked money. The seized pieces of evidence were brought to the Northern Police District Crime Laboratory Office in Caloocan City for laboratory examination. The suspect, who is now under police custody, will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Minka Klaudia Tiangco) 5 drug suspects nabbed in buy-bust op in Valenzuela Five drug suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation at Ugong, Valenzuela City Friday. Police identified the suspects as Roger Ramos, 41; Ronald Fabro, 40; Danilo Casipit, 29; Alfred Rivera, 21; and Johnny Booc, 40; all residents of Valenzuela City. Joint elements of the Valenzuela City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the sting at about 3:30 a.m. Investigation showed that the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P500 to a poseur buyer. Six sachets of suspected shabu, P400 in cash, P500 marked money, and a plastic container were retrieved from the suspects. The retrieved pieces of evidence were brought to the Northern Police District Crime Laboratory Office in Caloocan City for laboratory examination.
