Over P1M worth of 'shabu' seized in Albay raid

By Nino Luces CAMP OLA, Albay - Over a half million pesos worth of suspected "shabu" was seized by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bicol, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and different units of the Philippine National Police (PNP) during a drug raid held in Tabaco City on Wednesday afternoon. Cotton Yuson Talento, spokesperson of PDEA Bicol said the operation resulted in the arrest of two drug pushers identified as Vanessa Toscano Boral, 30, and her brother Mestico, 22, both residents of Purok 2, Sto Cristo, Tabaco City. She narrated that around 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, operatives of PDEA Albay led by Adrian Fajardo, PDEA Catanduanes led by Arlene Galiza, NBI Bicol, Maritime Police, PRO5-RSOG-RIID and Tabaco City PNP led by Police Major Christopher Aduviso, under the overall supervision of PDEA Bicol director Christian Frivaldo served the search warrant against the suspects who have been under surveillance. Confiscated during the raid were five pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected as "shabu" with a total weight of 80 grams and an estimated street value of P544,000.00 and several drug paraphernalia. A case for violation of Sections 11 Article II of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the suspects, Talento said.
