Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso got a warm reception in Quezon City on Saturday, Feb. 12.

The motorcade brought “Team Isko” to Districts 2 and 3 in Quezon City, and made its way through Barangays Holy Spirit, Pasong Tamo, Culiat, Batasan, and Commonwealth.

Domagoso, along with his running mate Doctor Willie Ong and senatorial bets Doctor Carl Balita, Samira Gutoc and Jopet Sison, joined the motorcade.

They were also joined by Quezon City 4th District Councilor Irene Belmonte, and Dave Valmocina, who is running for councilor in the 2nd district of the city.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte personally welcomed him and Ong. The two mayors embraced and exchanged pleasantries at a covered basketball court in Barangay Commonwealth.

“Maraming, maraming salamat sa ating minamahal na punong lungsod Mayor Joy Belmonte at atin pong mga konsehal na nandito lalong-lalo na sa ating mga kaibigan na tinulungan kaming umikot dito sa lugar ninyo. Maraming, maraming salamat (Thank you very much to our beloved Mayor Joy Belmonte and to the councilors here, especially to our friends who are helping us to campaign around the city),” Domagoso said.

Belmonte said she was happy that the Manila mayor, whom she considers as a long-time friend, included Quezon City in his campaign trail.

Aside from thanking the people for coming out during their motorcade, Domagoso also asked them to help him in the coming elections.

“Sana po mga kababayan, kailangan-kailangan namin ang tulong ninyo ni Doc Willie. Sana tulungan ninyo kami. Tandaan po ninyo mga kababayan laban natin ito. Eto ay tungkol sa anak niyo, tungkol sa kinabukasan nila. Nakasalalay sa mga puso’t, isipan ninyo at desisyon ninyo, Walongput araw mahigit ang nananatiling araw kaya’t isipin nating maigi (Doctor Willie Ong and I need your help. I hope you will help us. Remember that this is our battle. This is about your children and their future. It depends on your hearts and minds, and in your decision. We almost have 80 days left that’s why we need to think about it carefully),” Domagoso said.

During his brief stop-overs, Domagoso constantly reminded people to choose wisely because the future of their children depends on it.

“Ang boto nyo sa amin ay boto para sa mga paaralan, ospital, pabahay, at trabaho. Yun ang bobotohan nyo sa amin ni Doc Willie. Dalawang taon ng anim na taon itatawid namin kayo sa pandemyang ito, iraraos natin at magpapantay-pantay ang bawat Pilipino, walang mahirap, walang mayaman, lahat pantay-pantay (Your vote for us is your vote for the schools, hospitals, housing projects, and jobs. These are the reasons why you should vote me and Doctor Willie Ong. We will recover from this pandemic, we will be equal, no poor, and no rich, everyone will be treated equally),” he said.

If elected president, he promised to address poverty, hunger, unemployment, inequality, and social justice by providing the minimum basic needs of the people – housing, education, healthcare, and jobs. These are presented in his 10-Point Bilis Kilos Economic Agenda. (Terence Ranis)
