Presidential aspirant succeeds in preventing spread of virus; here's how its done
By swiftly deciding to adhere to safety protocols, that included isolating himself days before test results confirmed him positive for the SARS-COV-2 virus, presidential aspirant Sen. Panfilo Lacson saved many members of his campaign staff and their family from COVID-19 infection.

This was revealed by the Partido-Reporma campaign headquarters as the political party called on the public and government to cooperate in addressing the ongoing surge of COVID-19 cases in the country.
“We cannot allow this disease to stop our world again and bring us back to those days of confusion and panic like what happened in 2020,” said Partido Reporma party which is currently headed by Lacson.
Early Friday, Jan. 7, Lacson confirmed he tested positive to the virus. He received the official RT-PCR test results on Thursday evening, two days after his swab samples were taken.
Partido Reporma’s standard bearer went on self-quarantine starting Tuesday, Jan. 4 upon learning that his eldest son, chief of staff and other members of household have contracted COVID-19.
A day before, Lacson met with party officials and other staff at the Partido Reporma Media Bureau in Greenhills, San Juan City. Nobody among those who came in contact with him had manifested symptoms of the virus.
“It really paid off that Sen. Ping is very strict about adhering to safety protocols when we have our meetings. None of us so far have tested positive after our meeting last (January) 3,” said Partido Reporma senatorial bet Dr. Minguita Padilla, who attended the meeting.
The party press statement disclosed that Lacson “is now feeling much better after experiencing mild symptoms of cough, colds, sore throat and fever.” “But he continues to monitor himself on the advice of his doctor while he remains in isolation at their residence as part of the mandatory quarantine protocols,” the statement added.
Lacson’s son and other members of the household are “all recovering from the mild symptoms of the virus.
“None of the Lacson family had to be hospitalized over the incident,” the Partido Reporma disclosed.
Upon the instruction of Lacson, the party has called on all members and supporters to take extra precautionary measures amid the new wave of COVID-19 cases reported.
“We express our concern over reports that major pharmaceutical companies in the country are having a shortage of paracetamol, cough remedies and other medications that could ease some symptoms associated with coronavirus,” the political group stated.
