Special Bus Permits Effective Only from April 1 to 9 -LTFRB
LTFRB Board Member Manny Iway said that violators will be fined P2,000
for the first offense and P3,000 plus 60 days suspension for the
second. A cancellation of franchise plus a P5,000 fine will be given
for the third offense.
Iway also reminded bus drivers and operators to follow the seating
capacity of their respective buses. "This is simply a safety
precaution. Overloaded buses will not be allowed to roll out of their
terminals. We also discourage passengers standing in the middle of the
bus."
The LTFRB will release Monday the complete list of buses that are
awarded with special permits. Applications for the said permits ended
last Friday.
In 2011, a total of 646 buses were given special permits to ply
specific province-bound routes.
