Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Perhaps this could best describe the situation Friday night inside a Philippine National Railways (PNR) train bound for Laguna when a female passenger opted to climb up the luggage bin, and lie down there, just to avoid the cramped condition below.

Pictures taken by Eduard Ablanida, one of the passengers, was posted on the GMA News’ Facebook page.
The situation inside the train got so cramped that it forced the female passenger to think of a way to avoid the suffocating crowd.
Some netizens expressed support for what the female passenger did while others expressed sadness over the situation of public transportation in the country.
Often overloaded and hounded with mechanical and technical problems, trains in the Philippines pale in comparison to the more efficient and well-maintained carriages in other countries.
Despite this, many Filipinos still opt to take the Light Rail Transit, Metro Rail Transit and PNR trains because travel time is much less compared to riding in public utility vehicles like jeepneys and buses.
