A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck Zambales Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The quake, which was tectonic in its origin, was traced 49 kilometers (km) southwest of San Felipe, Zambales and occurred at 5:42 p.m. It had a depth of 17 km.
There were no recorded intensities as of this writing.
No aftershocks and damage were expected from the tremor, Phivolcs added.
