MANILA, Philippines — To celebrate his 29th year as an entertainer, Gary Valenciano is coming up with an eight-evening concert at the Music Museum that started on April 12. It will continue on April 19, 20, 26, and 27, and May 9 and 10.

It’s a wonder how Gary V will sustain that concert considering that he is afflicted with Type 1 diabetes since childhood. But Gary V is known as “Pure Energy,” so I believe he can make it through the rigorous eight evenings of his concert entitled “Gary V: On Higher Ground.”

The production is more meticulous than any of Gary’s previous big concerts here in the Philippines. Especially so that concert enthusiasts going to the Music Museum are known to be more discriminating and sophisticated!

For “Gary V: On Higher Ground,” music enthusiasts will witness Gary V in his best elements as he performs his greatest hits as well as some of today’s hottest chart toppers, party anthems, and homegrown favorites.

“I’m very excited and a bit nervous because as we have come up with new routines,” Gary stressed.

Gary V. directs the show with his son Paolo as co-director.

Music Center For Kids

A one-stop tutorial hub for the kids called Just One Music & Arts Center is now in operation with a variety of creative and academic short-course offers for children as young as two years old. The venue offers basic and advance music tutorial for drums, piano, guitar, and voice, as well as lessons for ballet and modern dance. Classes for taekwondo and other special skills are also available, while a kiddie art workshop is ongoing till May 26 (Tue-Sat).

“Follow-up and preparatory studies, apart from the usual schoolset-up, are proven effective in developing child character,” says co-proprietor Vogs Manuel, the hub’s brainchild from Ateneo Professional School.

Course offers include a three-month program spread out in 12 sessions to be conducted by professional teachers, many of them coming from the University of the Philippines. Kids up to high school are expected to avail of the programs.

Just One Music & Arts Center (its owners also operating a “Just One” print shop in Victoria Towers Timog, QC) is located at UG Ash CreekCenter, Madison St. corner Ortigas Avenue, Greenhills, San Juan City.
