BACOLOD CITY - Three persons were killed while eight others were injured after a tricycle collided with a truck at Barangay Talaban, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental last Thursday.

Killed were the tricycle driver, Kevin Jade Montaño, 23, and his passengers - Faith Joy Hontiveros, 15, and Joshua Valdez.
Wounded were Jerick Orbeña, 18, Robert Porras, 19, and four minors aged 14 to 17, who all riding the tricycle.
Also wounded were Roy Daguia, 40; and Danny Boy Sanny, 20, both residents of Bacolod City, who were riding a truck driven by Dario Pontino, 34, of Murcia town.
Police Lt. Col. Glen Provido, city police chief, said the tricycle was trying to pass a truck when it collided with another truck in the opposite lane.
The tricycle passengers were on their way home at the time.
Hontiveros and Valdez were declared dead at a hospital, while Montaño died the following day.
