AMAZING ACTS from the Grand National China Acrobatic Circus.

MANILA,Philippines— It’s less than 100 days to the London Olympics. But even before the actual competitions begin, everyone will be glued to their seats to see how London’s organizers plan to upstage the spectacular Beijing Olympic Opening number that enthralled everyone four years ago.

More than 160,000 watched the Beijing Olympics Opening live at the Birds Nest Stadium and an estimated one billion more watched on TV as 10,000 Chinese performers took part in the ceremony before the athletes paraded around the national stadium.

This May, Manila will experience a glimpse of the pageantry and skill seen during the Beijing Olympics Opening when the Grand National China Acrobatic Circus performs at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum from May 8 to 13 in “Legends of the Dragon.”

A total of 16 acts that defy gravity and physical strength are set to keep audiences at the edge of their seats once again.

The Chinese are a meticulous and hard-working lot. This is primarily the reason why China’s medal haul of 51 golds, 21 silvers and 28 bronzes during the Beijing Summer Olympic Games put them on the top spot.

From mesmerizing jugglers to extreme somersaults, every unsuspecting spectator is bound to applaud in awe and disbelief in a visually-satiating treat that is “Legends of the Dragon.”

Georgina At Cream Silk Event

With her long full-bodied hair, “it” girl Georgina Wilson was dubbed as the image of hair perfection during the recent launch of Cream Silk’s newest premium specialist range at 7th High Club in Bonifacio Global City.

The program presented “Hair and Soul” featuring models with full-bodied straight hair and looks inspired by TV host and teacher Patty Laurel, renowned bag designer Amina Aranaz-Alunan and award-winning founder of Rags2Riches Reese Fernandez.

Highlight of the event was the introduction of Georgina as the endorser of Perfection by Creamsilk.

Navarrete ReturnsTo Resorts World

Stand-up comedian Rex Navarrete is back to do a one-night show tonight at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre at the Resorts World Manila.

In the show billed “Rex Navarrete Top Picks,” the Fil-Am stand-up comedian features his current top picks.

Curtain-raisers are Mike Unson and Erik Mana. The special show is produced by Scribble Works Productions.

Rex Navarrate is seen regularly on the national late-night TV show “Lopez Tonight” that debuted last year on the TBS Network. He also performs frequently at established stand-up comedy venues such as The Punchline, The Improvs, The Laugh Factory, and Gotham Comedy Club NYC.

Filipinos around the world also get to experience Navarrete’s own brand of point-of-point comedy online with animated highlights of classic favorites “LBC Packers” and “Maritess and the Superfriends.” Rex regularly returns to Manila, which has become a fertile ground for his brand of comedy, inspiring the growth of an emerging local stand-up comedy scene. Last year, he was one of the few acts who have performed to a sold-out show at the Resorts World Manila.
