MANILA,Philippines — Finally, the megastar’s show on TV5 entitled “Sharon: Kasama Mo Kapatid,” is slated to go on air this coming May 7 (the timeslot still to be announced!) and of course the most excited is Sharon herself, this being her initial project with the Kapatid Network.

If it took a long time in coming, it’s because “inayos at pinaganda ng husto,” Sharon said. She added that it took them several meetings to come up with the concept of the show. Sharon wanted something different from the rest of the shows that she has done in the past.

The show will feature inspiring stories of real, ordinary people for which the megastar will infuse in her own inimitable way feel-good elements for the viewers. Shedding off her iconic public image as she delves into these extraordinary life stories and cultivates her personal experiences, Sharon promises to make use of her influence and capacity to touch lives and inspire positive change.

When she transferred to TV5 late last year, Sharon admitted to have experienced renewed energy to start a new chapter in her life. She believes that beyond the glitz and glam of the entertainment industry lies the true meaning of life that could be found in the celebration of real life stories from everyday people. “I was able to survive the highs and lows of life because of the unmatched support I got from the public through the years. My big move to TV5 comes an opportune time to give back to the people whom I owe all my successes,” Sharon related. “This show is all about them. This will be my legacy.”

If she has been so hands-on in the preparation and production of this show, it’s because she herself is co-producing it under her own production outfit, Mega Productions, Inc.

“Sharon: Kasama Mo, Kapatid” will be aired from Monday to Friday. Filipinos all over the world can also get engaged with the show via “Sharon: Kasama Mo, Kapatid’s” official Twitter account (@SharonKasamaMo), Sharon’s personal handle (@sharon_cuneta12) and its Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/SharonKamasamoMoKapatid).

Bel-Air’s ‘Pasinaya’ Starts Today

Bel-Air’s “Pasinaya,” an annual event “where showmanship and community spirit meet up joyfully” to quote Ms. Nene Lichauco, the formidable and much-loved Barangay Captain starts today and will wind up on May 6.

The three-day event kicks off with a Trade Fair (perya) from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Another exciting feature of the day is the “Gabi ng Kasambahay” with Jericho Rosales as special guest. “This is the day when our helpers get their chance to shine. Then, there is the fashion show where the models are our residents. Aside from this, we have a big bazaar, food festival, a pet show, a bingo social, and many more,” Ms. Lichauco said.

This year’s “Pasinaya” takes a cue from the popular ad campaign of the Department of Tourism. “We wanted to be in sync,” said Susan Calo-Medina, who is the show’s head creative honcho.

Tomorrow, there will be a marching of the bands, free kalesa ride and the opening of the Vigan/Ilocos Trade Fair in the morning. At 11:30 a.m., The Company will perform, followed by a group dance competition and other performances.

On May 6, there will be an animal show with Kuya Kim at 10:30 a.m., a show by Bituin Escalante at 11:30 a.m., pa-Bingo ni Mayor Jun Binay at 2 p.m. and entertainment galore from 7 p.m. till 11 p.m.
