ILIGAN CITY - Joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency- Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM), the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Army's 82nd Infantry battalion and 103rd Infantry brigade arrested two persons during a buy-bust operation and seized a kilogram of white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with as estimated value of P6.8 million at the MSU commercial center, barangay Dimalna in Marawi City on Wednesday.

Col. Jose Maria Cuerpo II, 103rd Infantry brigade commander, identified the arrested suspects as Jamal Manumbilao Tocalo alias Jun and Muhajir Usman Samad.
The troops also recovered P1.6 million fake buy-bust money, two driver's licenses, two leather wallets, and a Yamaha Aerox motorcycle.
“The success of this operation is attributed to the close collaboration among different law enforcement agencies in the campaign against illegal drugs,” said Cuerpo.
“Proper coordination among law enforcement units and timely execution greatly helped our forces in the successful conduct of operation,” he added.
Brig. Gen. Generoso “Gene” Ponio, the 1st Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Zampelan (Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao Provinces) commander, lauded the troops involved in the successful operation.
“Your Tabak trooper is always ready to assist and contribute in any joint law enforcement and support operations to ensure the security and protection of the constituents in our area of operation,” said Ponio.
