DAVAO CITY - Basilan Representative and Deputy Speaker Mujiv Hataman and his wife, Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman have already been released from quarantine after successfully recovering from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In a statement that he posted on his Facebook account, Rep. Hataman said they are already released from quarantine and the test results of their children and the members of their household were all negative.
The couple tested positive for COVID-19 on July 31. They initially thought that they were only experiencing a common cough prior to undergoing swab test.
Hataman thanked the medical frontliners who attended to them and encouraged others who are infected to make themselves known.
The deputy speaker also denounced the discrimination by some people against those who have contracted COVID-19.
"In this time of crisis, we should show compassion, and all the more that we need to be one in fighting this virus," Hataman added.
