Piolo, Angelica Waiting To Exhale

MANILA, Philippines — Surely Piolo Pascual and Angelica Panganiban will take your breath away as they topbill the comedy-romance offering of Star Cinema entitled “Every Breath You Take.” The fresh tandem provides the excitement and “kilig factor” of the film that is the movie company’s 19th anniversary treat to moviegoers.
The team-up of the Ultimate Heartthrob and showbiz’s Hottest Versatile Actress in a romantic comedy is actually long overdue. They were paired in “Every Breath You Take” not only because of Piolo and Angelica’s physical attributes but because of their acting prowess, the producers said.
“Both of them have won acting awards to prove their mettle. Hindi talaga matatawaran ang husay nila Piolo at Angelica at alam natin lahat yan,” they added.
In “Every Breath You Take,” Piolo plays the role of Leo, a career-driven playboy who believes that love will never be a priority for him. He changes girlfriends almost every week, he gets what he wants but love is the one thing that he doesn’t want.
On the other hand, Angelica is Majoy, a virginal romantic who has been waiting for her true to finally come. She believes that finding love is her destiny. They accidentally meet on Valentine’s Day and find themselves drawn to each other. But will the outrageous and hilarious circumstances ever allow them to fall in love and live happily ever after?
Directed by Mae Cruz, the movie also stars Carlos Agassi, Frenchie Dy, Janus del Prado, Ketchup Eusebio, Smokey Manaloto, Joross Gamboa, Ryan Bang, Wendy Valdez, Ryan Eigenmann, Cacai Bautista, Regine Angeles and Ms. Nova Villa.
“Every Breath You Take” opens today in over 100 theaters nationwide.

An Emotional, Tearful ‘WTBT’ Episode
It was an emotional edition of “Wil Time Big Time” that was aired last Saturday, May 12. We found ourselves among most TV5 viewers and especially those in the audience that included former Las Piñas Rep. Cynthia A. Villar who couldn’t help but shed tears with the stories of the mothers with special children who were the contest participants that day.
Those mothers’ devotion to and their sacrifices for their special children were truly admirable. One even said she’s doing her best to obtain a scholarship so she could study in order to provide her son the help he needs to uplift his condition. Two of those special children expressed desire to study (one even came with all his medals and awards) and one said he needs medical help to be able to walk again.
Willie announced that day that starting last Monday (May 14), comedian Rufa Mae Quinto will be a regular host of “Wil Time Big Time.”

Mother’s Day Movie A Success
Regal Entertainment, Inc. scored another victory via its Mother’s Day presentation, “The Mommy Returns,” which is currently making a killing at the tills.
The Gabby Concepcion, Ruffa Gutierrez and Pokwang-starrer grossed P6M when it opened in theaters last May 9, and it is expected to pack in the crowd even more this Mother’s Day weekend.
Pokwang delivered more than what’s expected of her as moviegoers laughed their hearts out in the film’s first few scenes alone.
Audiences were amused in that scene where Pokwang and John do the “Showbiz Central” “Don’t Lie To Me”-inspired segment which the latter himself anchors every week on GMA Network.
The film shifts gears to triple the fun and laughter in that scene where Pokwang manages to escape purgatory and return to their house as a ghost. She then stops at nothing to cut Ruffa’s desire to play wife to Gabby and stepmom to her (Pokwang’s) children played by Kiray Celis, Jillian Ward and Gerald Pesigan.
