FLORIDABLANCA, Pampanga — The Pampanga Malward has served 455 individuals who sought medical consultation and 124 out-patients who underwent laboratory services, records for April this year shows. Rustica R. Butiu, provincial nutrition action officer and head of the Malward, revealed that the out-patients were attended to by Doctors Trisha Medina; Michael and Natalie Rivera; and Francel Villarin. Among the laboratory services provided by the Malward were urinalysis, fecalysis, CBC, platelet, RBS, and blood typing, Butiu said. (Franco G. Regala)

BALANGA CITY, Bataan — To better serve the public on climate and weather information, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) launched a new website for real-time weather data and news. The site named PREDICT which stands for Philippine Real-Time Environment Data Acquisition and Interpretation for Climate-Related Tragedy Prevention and Mitigation displays current sets of weather data from the country’s 17 regions. “Through http://202.90.128.12/predict/stations.php, various parameters including wind direction, wind speed, temperature, air humidity, air pressure, rain amount, and rain duration could be viewed in the site,” said Jose Mari Garcia, chief of the Philippine Information Agency, quoting PAGASA officials. MALL CELEBRATION

CAINTA, Rizal — The artistry and craftsmanship of the residents of Rizal Province added color and excitement to the festivities at the anniversary celebration of the province’s pioneer mall here this weekend. The Provincial Toursim Office (PTO) sent the “Higantes’ of Angono, and the youth cultural dancers of Antipolo and San Mateo to the Sta. Lucia Mall here to take part in the mall’s celebration of its 21st anniversary. BOXING TEAM

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal — The city government expressed yesterday appreciation to the private sector for helping the city in its sports and youth development program, particularly in boxing. This was exemplified in the recent holding of elimination bouts organized by the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines-Antipolo (ABAP-Antipolo) and the City Youth and Sports Development Office (CYSDO) at the Ground and Pound Boxing Gym at the Sumulong Memorial Circle. It led to the forming of Team Antipolo composed of: pinweight Nixon Paulino; lightflyweight Jerwin dela Cruz; flyweight Fernando Venus; bantamweight Michael Versaga; lightweight Jose Emaas; lightwelterweight Cocoy Perez, and welterweight Rene Cinco for the 2012 Philippine National Games in Dumaguete City. SCHOLARSHIP TESTS

LINGAYEN, Pangainan — Gov.  Amado T. Espino is further strengthening his quality education program through scholarships with the Provincial Scholarship Fund Board set to conduct qualifying examinations for poor but deserving college freshmen on May 30. Venue of the qualifying exams for the provincial government’s academic scholarship is the Pangasinan National High School Social Hall in Lingayen for Divisions of Pangasinan 1, Alaminos City and San Carlos City, and at the Juan G.
