The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) has awarded the P350-million contract for the Systematic Replacement of Rolling Stock Air-Conditioning Units for 10 LRT-2 Trainsets to the joint venture of MRAIL, INC. and Multi-Scan Corporation.
The joint venture submitted the lowest calculated and responsive offer to the LRTA.
Under the contract, MRAIL and Multi-Scan shall replace the existing roof-mounted air conditioners on 10 train sets of the LRT Line 2 System. The existing air conditioning units (ACU) have been in use for over 15 years now.
“MRAIL is a rail maintenance and technology company with a Quality Certification from the International Organization for Standardization,” says MRAIL President Ferdinand G. Inacay.
“We bring our expertise and capability in executing the Systematic ACU replacement for the LRT-2 Rolling Stock,” he added.
Using latest technology and original equipment manufactured parts, the new ACUs will seamlessly interface with the Train Monitoring System.
A total of 80 ACUs will be delivered and installed throughout the 12-month project period.
“We are happy that the project will finally come to fruition,” commented Yolanda Ramos, president of Multi-Scan.
