Sec. Remulla names De Lemos NBI OIC

NBI Officer-in-Charge Medardo G. De Lemos

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla has appointed Assistant Director Medardo G. De Lemos as officer-in-charge of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

In the Department Order issued last July 1, Remulla said that De Lemos “shall perform and discharge the duties and responsibilities of the office until 31 July 2022 or until a replacement has been appointed or designated whichever comes first.”

“This Order takes effect immediately and shall remain in force until further orders,” Remulla also said in his order.

De Lemos replaced NBI Senior Deputy Director Eric B. Distor as NBI OIC.

Former President Duterte appointed Distor as NBI OIC in 2020 following the retirement of former NBI Director Dante Gierran on Feb. 22, 2020.
