Bishop: Pray For Senators, Verdict
MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan — Diocese of Malolos Bishop Jose Oliveros is calling on the faithful to offer this Sunday’s prayers for senator-judges to be guided by the Holy Spirit in deciding their verdict on impeached Chief Justice Renato C. Corona. Oiveros told reporters at the Bishop’s Residence at the Basilica Minore (Malolos Cathedral) here, yesterday that his homily today will be for the intention of a sound judgement by the impeachment court.
“We will ask God to give our honorable Senators the gift of discerning, through the Holy Spirit, to make a proper and just decision,” he said. (Freddie C. Velez)

HERMOSA, Bataan — For the sake of economic development in this neglected town, incumbent local officials have decided to “kiss and make up,” set aside their differences, and seek a political alliance with Governor Enrique “Tet” Garcia, Vice Mayor Christopher D. Vitug said yesterday. Vitug’s action came in the wake of the reported joining with the political group of Garcia by the local leaders here led by him and incumbent Mayor Danilo Malana. BOLINAO Pangasinan — Authorities have launched a search for two fishermen reported missing at sea after setting out for the West Philippine Sea last Monday. The fishermen were identified as Rodolfo G. Molina, 24, and Jinggoy Paltep, 24, both of Barangay Balingasay, here. The fishermen’s team told police that the two set out with them on a mother fishing boat to their chosen fishing ground. There, the two boarded a small motorboat launched from the mother boat to catch fish but failed to return aver half a day. (Liezle Basa Iñigo)
Bulacan’s Reyna Elena Wows All
MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan — The traditional Flores de Mayo (Flowers of May), a church centered procession dating back to 1865 when young girls offered flowers to the Blessed Mother, was a big success here last Friday. Bb. Pilipinas 2012 2nd runner up Annalie Forbes was this year’s Reyna Elena, escorted by Vice Governor Daniel R. Fernando. Thousands turned up to join and watch the procession organized by the Provincial Youth, Sports, Education, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PYSEACTO) to kick off “Bulaklakan 2012,” the Bulacan Grand Santacruzan.
