Former Customs chief Nicanor E. Faeldon took his oath as the Deputy Administrator for Operations of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) at the Department of National Defense (DND) in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City yesterday.
The oath of service was administered by Defense Secretary Delfin N. Lorenzana and witnessed by OCD officials led by Civil Defense Administrator Undersecretary Ricardo B. Jalad, Civil Defense Deputy Administrator for Administration Assistant Secreary Kristoffer James E. Purisima and other officers of the Department.
Lorenzana urged Faeldon to bring new insights that would contribute to OCD’s development as the country’s lead Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) agency.
For his part, Jalad expressed confidence that Faeldon could help OCD in the effort to provide efficient service to the Filipino in line with the country’s DRRM advocacy .
The Senate has allowed Faeldon to go out of his detention room to swear in his new post in the OCD.
