The feud between Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV and the ranks of the pro-Duterte administration in the 24-member Senate headed by Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III is getting personal.

“Masyado namang siya ninenerbyos agad para sa amo nya,’’ Trillanes said of Pimentel’s reaction to his (Trillanes’) filing a Senate resolution seeking a Senate inquiry on the alleged unexplained wealth of President Duterte and his daughter, Davao city Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio. (He becomes nervous when his patron is involved).
Pimentel is president of the PDP-Laban party. President Duterte and House Speaker Pantalen Alvarez are PDP-Laban party members.
After Trillanes filed his resolution, Pimentel reacted by saying that the court is another forum that Trillanes could seek resolution to his allegation that the two Dutertes have P100 million in joint deposits at the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI).
The two Dutertes should be investigated by the Senate for alleged violation of the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA), Trtllanes stressed.
The sought-after Senate probe, according to Trillanes, would be part of the oversight functions of the Senate.
“Senator Pimentel, even as Senate President, has no power to disallow its referral (to an appropriate Senate committee),’’ Trillanes, a former Navy officer, said.
