The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced that all job fairs are temporarily put on hold Tuesday.
The labor department said this is to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In Administrative Order No. 106-2020, DOLE said "employment facilitation programs which entail mass gatherings (i.e. Job and Business Fairs) are put on hold."
The labor department this is pursuant also to the directive on strict social distancing measures amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
DOLE-NCR, meantime, suspended work in all their Regional and Field Offices starting March 17, 2020, in view of the declaration of a Luzon-wide Community Quarantine.
A job fair is an employment facilitation strategy of the DOLE aimed to fast-track the meeting of jobseekers and employers/overseas recruitment agencies in one venue at a specific date.
