“In view of the announcement of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte of the extension of the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and other ‘high-risk’ areas in Luzon, until May 15, 2020, we would like to inform our dear clearance applicants that we will be resuming our clearance processing operations on May 18, 2020,” the NBI announced on Thursday, April 30.

The NBI suspended processing NBI clearances last March 18 following the imposition of the ECQ.
Last April 24, the government declared that it extending until May 15 the ECQ in Metro Manila and several high-risk areas due to the continued threat of the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Under the ECQ, the government said there will be stringent quarantine measures in covered areas where public transportation remain suspended while only essential businesses and services are allowed to operate.
On the other hand, the government said that starting May 1 low-risk and moderate-risk areas will be placed under the general community quarantine (GCQ).
Under GCQ, there will be relaxed quarantine measures including the resumption of public transportation but in a reduced capacity.
There will be 50 percent to 100 percent reopening of select establishments subject to minimum health standards.
If there is no further deterioration, GCQ will be relaxed.
