After getting a taste of acting in “The Hows Of Us,” Darren Espanto looks forward to doing similar projects. Darren Espanto He described doing that movie “overwhelming.” “I am happy to have been given an opportunity like that. Imagine, I had no acting workshop, I just went straight to work. And I think, it all ended well,” he told Bulletin Entertainment. Kathryn and Daniel were “very generous” in giving him tips. “I can really ask them question. They are very approachable. Ate Kathryn taught me to tone down my voice so it would sound like more natural when I deliver my lines,” he related. The actress was his childhood crush. “That’s why when I learned I would play the role of Ate Kath’s younger brother, I said yes right away.” He hopes to do more drama movies over other genres. He wants to work with Sarah Geronimo. “If ever, I want something same from ‘The Hows Of Us,’ like family-oriented themes of movie. I think that will be appropriate for my age,” was how he put it. He plans to undergo acting workshops to hone his craft. Darren admitted it’s challenging balancing time between singing and acting. A scene from 'The Hows Of Us' “There are times I’m on an out-of-town event, but then I also need to be on set. One time, I even caused a delay. It’s really hard. I’m new to that. I salute those who are able to do both at the same time,” he said. The young artist said he is willing to lie-low in singing for a bit for acting jobs. “Singing has always been my passion but I’ve always been fascinated with acting. Now that I’m slowly getting opportunities in acting, I think I should do less singing commitment so I can focus. It’s, like, one work at a time.” What has acting taught him? “It made me more humble. I also got to learn about being patient, and being professional all the time.”
