Media Seminar
PANDI, Bulacan — At least 35 representatives from different department heads of the municipal office here headed by Mayor Enrico Roque attended the news writing, lay-outing, good and newsworthy photos, public speaking and public relations seminar workshop held at the Municipal compound here recently. Seeing the need to make their own newsletters for information dissemination and tourism promotion, Roque expressed his appreciation to the Bulacan media investigative reporters who led the workshop. He also said that the news letter will help inform the public about the developments in this towns as well as help boost the tourism in the place. (Freddie C. Velez)
Donor’s Day
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Pampanga will lead the country in the celebration of the Blood Donor’s Day today at the Bren Z. Guaio Convention Center. The Department of Health has chosen the province to host the kick-off ceremony of the annual celebration. With the theme “Every Blood Donor Is A Hero,” the event is a national celebration that promotes awareness on the significance of donating blood. The highlights of the event include Human Formation that ensemble the drop of blood, “Walk for Life” around the oval track and field and releasing of red balloons. The celebration will also recognize groups who actively participate and support blood-letting activities in the region. (Mark Anthony Manuel)
Organic Farm
VIGAN CITY — Farmers from Kalinga province were told to engage in organic farming in a portion of their rice land to experience the beneficial effects of the technology in their socio – economic living. The move was part of the massive advocacy campaign on organic agriculture programs being pushed by the Department of Agriculture (DA) toward the full implementation of Republic Act 10068 or the Organic Act of 2010, authored then by DA Secretary Proceso Alcala, who was the former Congressman of Quezon Province. CAMP TOLENTINO, Bataan — More professionals from the civilian sector have joined the Community Investigate Services (CIS) of the Philippine National Police, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Director Samuel Pagdilao said yesterday. Director Pagdilao said that aside from the thousands who have been integrated into the CIDG-CIS in Central and Northern Luzon thousands more have joined in Mindanao region, giving the CIDG more eyes and ears in the countryside. This developed as joint elements of CIDG-CIS in Bataan have arrested an 82-year-old man for rape after a judge ordered his arrest in this town in another breakthrough support of the CIS. Chief Inspector Melchor B. Cantil, newly designated CIDG provincial chief in Bataan, reported that Pablo Erandio, 82, of Sitio Parka, Zone 6, barangay Camaya, this town, had been listed as the Top 2 most wanted person for allegedly raping several times a young student. Course Training
CAMP NAKAR, Lucena City, Quezon — At least 45 policewomen of the CALABARZON Police Regional Office represented by five provinces underwent a 10-day specialized course for women and children protection desk officers here. Senior Inspector Lalaine Malapascua, course coordinator, said that the specialized course for policewomen who are detailed at the WCPD aims to train them in handling cases related to women and children.
