CALACA, Batangas -- Police arrested eight people involved in trading of pilfered petroleum products in Barangay Salong on Tuesday dawn, March 21 in this town.
Batangas Police director Col. Pedro Soliba identified the suspects as alias Emerson, 40, distributor; alias Jose, 53, welder; alias Alejandro, 48, driver; alias Sherwin, 50, driver; alias Rafael, 28; alias Joselito, 44; alias Herbert, 41, and alias Dennis, 48, driver.
Calaca police seized three petroleum tankers, Howo Fuel tanker truck with plate number NAD 6678; Izusu Giga with plate number CDK 1701, Howo truck with plate number NBR 6738, four containers filled with petroleum products, four empty containers, improvised hose, improvised funnel hose, improvised funnel cable tie seal, a tank assembly containing 12, 500 liters of methanol and P53,000 cash money.
Also, a caliber .45 Norinco 1911 pistol loaded with bullets was confiscated from alias Emerson with serial number BA21496-09-246.
In his report to PRO4A regional director Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, Soliba said the suspects will charged for violation of Presidential Decree 1865 (Oil Pilferage Law) while suspect alias Emerson is facing additional charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act).
