CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police Chief Superintendent Wendy G. Rosario, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) deputy regional director for administration, was given arrival honors at this camp yesterday, a week after he got his one-star rank promotion. The activity, which started at 9 a.m., was participated in by uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of PRO3 headed by Chief Supt. Edgardo T. Ladao, PRO3 director. In his message, Rosario said: “Rank does not confer privilege or give power; it is given to enable you to better serve those above and below you. With this promotion, I will keep on thriving to do my job more efficiently and effectively, and I will do so with pride, integrity and determination.” (Franco G. Regala)

MOTORIZED TRASH BINS IN DAGUPAN

DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan — The Liga Ng Mga Barangay and Dagupan City Mayor Benjamin S. Lim have entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the release of P100,000 to defray the cost of one three-wheeled-motorized garbage bin called “garong” for each barangay. Under  the  MOA, the role of the  barangay as the primary planning and implementing unit of government policies, plans, programs and projects in the community is recognized and, thus, used to strengthen  the implementation of  the environmental and sanitation programs of the city, said City Administrator Vladimir T. RIGID TRAINING

TAYTAY, Rizal — Policemen here are undergoing a 45-day rigid training on counter insurgency operation as part of the intensified anti-criminality campaign of the Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO) based in this town. The modified Special Counter-Insurgency Operation Unit Training (SCOUT) Class 2012-08 for this year is composed of 106 non-commissioned officers of the PPO. Senior Supt. Rolando Anduyan, acting PPO director, said the SCOUT training is expected to produce fit, knowledgeable, and result-oriented police personnel who will be capable of performing frontline tasks during critical situations as they address properly the crime prevention and control and at the same time uphold everyone’s right to life and peaceful living. ARMY ENCOURAGES ENTRY IN P.M.A.

The leadership of the Philippine Army (PA) urged the youth yesterday to join in the premier military academy as the Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) is encouraging residents of Central Luzon, Ilocos, Cagayan Valley and Cordillera regions to grab the opportunity to have a promising career as an officer of the government forces. NOLCOM said the applicants will join in Air Force, Amy or Navy after successfully taking the entrance exam of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) that is scheduled on August 26. ‘INK CAPITAL’

SUBIC, Zambales — Subic is vying to be the “ink capital” of the province as the town plays host to the 1st Subic Skin Flash Tattoo Competition this coming Saturday. This national event aims to establish a group for the growing number of tattoo enthusiasts in Zambales wherein they could enhance their trade skills thru seminars, shop management and get livelihood assistance.
