Sampaloc residents to be screened for COVID-19 after 'hard lockdown'

By Jean Fernando The Manila City government will start screening about 1,000 residents in Sampaloc, Manila to determine who among the residents were affected by COVID-19 during the 48-hour “hard lockdown” from 23 to 25 of April. According to Ospital ng Sampaloc chief, Dr. Aileen Lacsamana, the testing will prioritize barangay officials and household contacts of COVID-19 patients. Lacsamana said that Geronimo Elementary School was used as testing facility. She said that as of 12 noon yesterday about 236 individuals were already subjected to FDA approved rapid anti-body test in the said district that can yield result in 10 to 15 minutes. Those who will test positive will undergo screening and they will be assessed if they need to be brought to a quarantine site in Delpan. The Ospital ng Sampaloc chief said that the testing will continue up to Saturday coming from five barangays in the said district. City Health Officer Dr. Arnold Pangan, said that a total of 66 individuals were subjected to a swab test.
