Pangasinan zoning containment intensified vs COVID-19 spread

PANGASINAN – The provincial government is intensifying its zoning containment strategy to slow down the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

“Kinokonsidera rin ng ating Provincial Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) ‘yong changing of the quarantine status in relation to the adherence ng ating mga existing national IATF resolutions. Isa dito ay ang pagsunod natin sa zoning containment strategy,” said Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMMO) Chief Rhodyn Luchinvar Oro.

With the zoning containment strategy, the movement of people would be limited in certain areas to prevent the spread of the virus while testing and the treatment of affected individuals are ongoing.

Oro said that the Provincial Government of Pangasinan was conducting aggressive contact tracing to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Pangasinan.

Isolation facilities in the province are also being utilized and expanded for the zoning containment strategy.

As of October 7, 2020 Pangasinan has recorded 1,172 COVID-19 cases, with 701 recoveries. Of the remaining cases, 432 are still confined at hospitals or quarantine facilities,, while 39 have died.

Meanwhile, Oro also assured that the provincial government of Pangasinan was striking a balance between opening the economy and firming up the community quarantine in the province in the fight against COVID-19.
