DBM chief thankful for high public trust

Budget Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman said she is thankful to the public for considering her as one of the highly capable and reliable Cabinet members serving under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. Based on the independent and non-commissioned 2023 "Boses ng Bayan" national survey conducted by the RP-Mission and Development (RPMD) Foundation Inc., Pangandaman secured the third position with a 73 percent approval rating and a 75 percent trust rating. This trust rating showed an increase of eight percentage points compared to December 2022. The survey, held from June 25 to July 5, involved 10,000 adult participants randomly selected from a pool of 67.75 million registered voters. The distribution of respondents was based on the official voter population statistics of each city, ensuring proportional representation. The survey results have a margin of error of +/- one percent and a confidence level of 95 percent. “I am once again grateful to our countrymen for the trust they have given me as Budget Secretary. I will strive even more to live up to their confidence and expectations,” Pangandaman said. Pangandaman assured that the Marcos Administration will continue programs to address inflation, generate more jobs with better salaries, provide financial aid to the needy, enhance service delivery, and combat corruption through digital transformation. She also reiterated the administration's commitment to an inclusive and sustainable Agenda for Prosperity, benefiting both present and future generations. In the survey, Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos claimed the top position with an 88 percent performance rating and a 93 percent trust rating. Following closely were Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian (76 percent approval, 85 percent trust rating), National Security Adviser Eduardo Año (75 percent approval, 87 percent trust rating), and Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco (75 percent approval, 70 percent trust rating), all tied at second place. Additionally, President Marcos, Vice President Sara Duterte, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez garnered significant public support and trust in both the executive and legislative branches.
