Davao City residents told to participate in 'culture of security' campaign
DAVAO CITY - The city government of Davao advised the residents to actively participate in the first city-wide culture of security community exercise which will be held in the coming days.
The local government said this activity will be part of the "Davao City's Culture of Security'' campaign.
"The community exercise will happen any time next week, covering the entire city of Davao. The public, especially Dabawenyos, are encouraged to participate in this exercise," it said.
"Task Force Davao (TFD) will test how Dabawenyos cooperate with authorities and react to reports of terrorist presence in this upcoming exercise," it added.
As part of the exercise, the city government said 25 actors disguised as "terrorists" will be deployed in various locations within Davao City, including five churches, five hotels or inns, five restaurants, five malls and five government establishments.
"The actors will be supervised by personnel from TFD/Davao City Police Office to ensure their own security in case the exercise may trigger negative reactions from the public. Anytime the exercise may also be declared terminated for safety reasons," it said.
The city government advised the public to avoid panicking and to "report these suspicious individuals based on the specific descriptions to be announced by the City Government of Davao. Once reported, the terrorist will be counted as "neutralized."
