For the second time in four months, President Duterte quietly slipped out of the country to visit Hong Kong with his family, the Chief Executive's former top aide confirmed.

Former Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go confirmed that the President went to Hong Kong for a “weekend getaway” with common-law wife Honeylet Avanceña and their teenage daughter Veronica or Kitty.
Go said the President left for Hong Kong Friday evening and was expected to return to the country Sunday.
"Totoo po na pumunta ng Hong Kong si Pagulong Duterte na kasama ang long-time partner nya na si Ma’am Honeylet Avanceña at anak nila na si Kitty para sa isang personal na biyahe (It is true that President Duterte went to Hong Kong with his long-time partner Ma'am Honeylet and their daughter Kitty for a personal trip)," he said in a text message.
In a text message, presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo also confirmed that the President, Avancena, and daughter Kitty were in Hong Kong for the weekend as it was Avanceña's birthday on Sunday.
In a report by the South China Morning Post (SCMP), Duterte was seen dressed in a dark suit while roaming inside fashion wear chain Uniqlo's shop at the World Trade Center in Causeway Bay around 6 p.m. with his bodyguards.
In a photo taken by Southern District Council member Henry Chai Man-hon posted on the SCMP website, a female shopper was surprised to see Duterte walking around the store.
It was also said in the report that few Filipinos were around at the time. Some shoppers recognized the President but no one greeted him. Duterte, however, talked to shop staff about the products.
Go explained that it was actually the President's youngest child who requested for the trip which they had already done before when Duterte was still mayor of Davao City.
"It was actually Kitty who requested her father for the trip, as a gift. Nagawa na ito nila noon kahit nung mayor pa ng Davao City si PRRD (They did this before when President Duterte was still mayor of Davao City). The weekend getaway is for rest and recreation," he said.
He added that like always, Duterte appointed Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea as officer-in-charge to oversee the daily operations of the Office of the President.
This was not the first time Duterte spent a weekend in Hong Kong for personal matters. In October last year, Duterte went to Hong Kong "to rest." He was joined by Avanceña, Veronica, and Go.
Duterte's October trip to Hong Kong came after his admission that he had an endoscopy where his doctors were said to have discovered something in his digestive tract.
In February this year, a Duterte look-alike took Hong Kong by storm when he walked into St. Joseph's Church dressed in the President's signature white shirt. The church is popular with the city's Filipino community.
The impersonator, known as Cresencio Extreme, was accompanied by Howard X, the Hong Kong-based impersonator of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
