Police seized more than P680,000 worth of suspected shabu from a 15-year-old girl during a drug bust in Marikina City Saturday, October 10.
Marikina Police chief Col. Restituto Arcangel said the minor suspect is an out-of-school youth, and a resident of Commonwealth in Quezon City.
Members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by Police Capt. Fernildo De Castro launched a drug sting against the suspect in the corner of J.P. Rizal and Buenmar Street in Barangay Nangka, Marikina at around 10 a.m.
Before the operation, De Castro said an undercover cop was able to strike a deal with an unidentified male for a P50,000 shabu sale. The police poseur buyer and the drug peddler agreed to meet in front of a convenience store in the area.
“When our poseur buyer was in the area, the drug dealer texted the cop again and gave a new number for the delivery of illegal drugs. The cop sent a message to the given number, and the dealer replied that he was already waiting and wearing this type of clothes,” De Castro said.
However, the police were surprised when a 15-year old girl appeared in the area, matching the description given by the dealer, and handed over the suspected shabu. The courier was immediately placed under police custody.
Authorities recovered 10 medium sachets, placed inside a brown plastic bag, containing about 100 grams of illegal drugs. It was estimated to be worth about P680,000.
According to the police, the minor admitted receiving P500 to P1,000 for every transaction. De Castro said they are now tracking down the drug dealer.
The minor was turned over to the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
