Even when the country, or Metro Manila, is downgraded to Alert Level 1, the government would still require the wearing of face masks just to make sure that coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections would remain under control.

This, even as the OCTA Research Group noted that there was a slight upward trend in infections that, it said, could be because many Filipinos went out to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

The government has released P7.9 billion in allowances for health care workers.

And the hottest topic on the election campaign front was the Commission on Election’s (Comelec) aggressive “Oplan Baklas”, which seeks to strictly enforce election rules, particularly on the posting of campaign materials.
