Duterte: US should solve problems instead of interfering with other nations' affairs

The United States should solve its problems, such as the recent school shooting in Texas, instead of interfering with the affairs of other nations, President Duterte said yesterday.

The President bewailed that the United States has hurled criticisms against him and belittled the Filipino nation despite facing many problems in its own backyard.
“Look what's happening to your country. One guy, crazy with drugs, goes to the school in Texas then blows the body of --- and this has been happening,” the President told the US during his meeting with Cebu’s local chief executives yesterday.
"There are a lot of problems that you have to solve before you go to some other else's pocket to get the marbles. Solve your problem first,” Duterte added.
A student armed with a shotgun and pistol recently went on a shooting rampage in Sante Fe High School in Texas, killing 10 people and wounding several others. Of those killed, eight were students and two were teachers.
The President admitted that he has "no rapport" with the US since it “adopted the garbage of the yellow” and continued it attacks against his administration since he assumed office. He claimed that US thinks highly of itself and belittles other nations.
"Ang America blows hot and cold. Ako pa ngayon ang kontrabida, sila 'yung pilosopo (I'm portrayed as a villain now although they're know-it-all)," he said.
"Ang ayaw ko kay kayong mga Amerikano kayo, kasi mga suplado kayo (I don't like Americans because they are haughty) and you think too highly -- you overrate yourself and underestimate other people of other countries. You are easy to criticize," he said.
He added that the US should learn to respect other nations and not prejudge their independent actions.
"Do not make judgments as if you are always correct because you are always wrong. Everything that you have or did in the years that --- puro palpak ka (you have failed)," he said.
The country’s relations with the United States have been strained after Duterte launched a profanity-laced tirade at the Obama administration for criticizing his anti-drug campaign. He has lashed out at the previous administration for meddling in domestic affairs, threatening to sever a defense pact and order the pullout of American troops in the country.
The Philippine-US ties however have slightly improved after Duterte welcomed the election of Trump. The two leaders have expressed mutual admiration on leadership style and vowed to further enhance bilateral, economic and security relations between the two strategic allies.
