The demonstrators vowed to raise pertinent questions and demand full transparency on what actually happened during the election and post-election period.
“Today marks the coordinated Black Friday protests against the widespread electoral fraud and violence that transpired in the recent mid-term polls. The fight is far from over. We have all reasons to protest and collectively resist the massive fraud and cheating in the recent polls," said Danilo Ramos chairman of the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP).
In a statement the KMP said "behind the glaring technical glitches is an outright political motive by the administration and the ruling elite to consolidate political power to undermine the people's growing dissent".
Ramos insisted the public should not simply accept the “trending results' of the election that was obviously rigged and manipulated to favor Duterte and his allies’’.
He stressed “now leading the polls are known enemies of the Filipino people -- landlords, traditional politicians, members of political dynasties, and corrupt officials whom Duterte supported and endorsed’’.
Ramos claimed the opposition candidates were obviously eased out and now trailing in the canvassing despite the overwhelming support they got from the public clamoring for a new and independent Senate.
“The partylist polls are even worse. Fake partylists and administration partylists without any track record and legitimate legislative platform are now reigning while progressive partylists were blatantly bumped off,’’ he added.
"We hold the Comelec highly-accountable for the unending irregularities and lack of transparency in the recent polls. We also hold the DILG and Secretary Eduardo Año responsible for using all the dirty tricks in his books to turn the election results in favor of the military and Duterte. The ruling elite is so afraid of the people's choice, they resorted to fraud, smear campaign, vote buying, and violence," the peasant farmer’s group said.
Ramos called on the people to remain vigilant insisting “we must continue raising concerns over the obvious rigging of the polls’’.
“If Duterte can easily debase the elections -- a supposed democratic process, then he can easily do anything with his stamp pad Senate and the Congress of landlords and bureaucrats," Ramos concluded. #MatalinongBoto2019
